Malmköping - a living market town since 1785
In the charming small town of Malmköping, we are met by a living story about the former regimental type, which has a very exciting history and an equally exciting present. In the middle of Stora Torget rises the beautiful historic town hall, an impressive witness to the city's rich heritage. This building was formerly the officers' mess and regimental building.
Here we can go on walks through history and let Colonel Gustaf Adolf von Siegroth "guide" us on how the purchase was founded. Malma Hed became a permanent training ground for the Royal Södermanland Regiment in 1774. Since then, Köpingen has been a meeting place that unites the past with the present.
We visit the Malmahed museum and there we get a good introduction to the history of Malmköping.
